Statement

My life and passion for art resemble a quilt

Each patch is different

Texture, dimension, and bold colors

Oil, gold leaf, watercolor and collage

Metal, wood, and canvas

Up close and personal

Like my relationships with the world

Light and dark, hard and soft, serious and playful

So many expressions

It’s my joy, it’s my bliss

I call you into my world

Sit down on my quilt

And stay for a while

Biography

I have been involved in Kenya since my first visit there in 2000. My soul was touched forever by my experience. Having had a previous career as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, my love and care for children was solidified there. Since then, every dollar I make with my art goes directly to helping provide education for the kids of Kenya. I return every year to oversee their progress and douse them with love. I believe very strongly in the concept of “pay it forward” and that is what my art allows me to do. My years in pediatrics and art blend together to make its purpose even more profound for me. It’s my guiding belief that by educating and empowering girls, we are able to change the face of poverty.
